Empowering young people to transform their lives through music and community. The DC Youth Orchestra Program believes that all young people should have access to the transformative power of music education; excellence is fostered through diversity, inclusion, and community; students are supported in their personal journey by meeting them where they are; and youth orchestras can model change and shape the future of the orchestral music world. DCYOP serves nearly 500 students ages 4 to 18 annually, from beginner classes to paths toward becoming a professional musician or musician-citizen.
