Funding Request For:
The Central American Resource Center (CARECEN) will enroll and serve 100 citizenship students with the hopes of increasing the number as COVID cases decrease.
- Conduct outreach to local businesses, nonprofits, churches, etc. as well as Spanish language media to promote naturalization and citizenship classes.
- Conduct intake and registration to gather important demographic and educational information, conduct a pre-test, and assign students to an appropriate level instruction.
- Host three 12-week courses. Provide curriculum, learning materials and volunteer teachers. Class consists of weekly ESL and civics segments, as well as English language conversation practice, fieldtrips, and mock interviews after graduation.
