Free Minds | Community Service Grants | The Rotary Foundation of Washington DC

Preparing incarcerated and formerly incarcerated DC youth and adults for successful reentry through workforce development, peer support, the literary arts, trauma healing, member-led advocacy, and peacebuilding. Free Minds provides long-term wraparound services through books and creative writing.

 

Funding Request For:

Grant funds will be used to supplement Free Minds’ Peer Support Training Program, which equips formerly incarcerated members with the skills and resources needed to support their fellow members coming home from incarceration. Graduates of the program, Peer Supporters, are paired with members just home, and apply their new skills through check-ins with their partners.
