Supporting DC families as they move from homelessness to independent lives, contributing to the vibrancy of the DC community. Hope and Home owns and maintains 19 transitional housing units in DC, where families participate in robust, multi-phased programs, including the Grace Dickerson Higher Education (GDHE), which provides educational support to families with students who range from Pre-K through the post-secondary level.

Funding Request For:

The Community Service Grant will support Hope and Home’s ongoing GDHE education program for homeless families at a time when inflation and other factors have further stressed those communities. The program’s two-generation approach encourages academic achievement and long-term financial independence. Its services reinforce a pipeline toward post-secondary degrees and/or credentialing.
