Ending homelessness in the Washington, D.C. area by empowering people in need with the skills, tools, and confidence to succeed. Street Sense Media uses a range of media platforms—including a street newspaper, podcasts, photography, and theater—to empower people experiencing homelessness or living in extreme poverty with new opportunities. It also raises awareness about homelessness in our community.
Funding Request For:
The partial Community Service Grant supports the hosting of a Street Sense Media 20th anniversary event to celebrate its 130 artist/vendors [participants] with a catered meal and soft drinks. The initiative provides direct relief and critical support (clothing, toiletries, gift cards) to people who are experiencing housing insecurity, and working to end homelessness.
