Empowering low-income families by fostering the optimal development of their young children through educational and support services. The Family Place’s major program service areas are Early Learning; Family Stability and Support; and Emergency Services. The Emergency Services program attempts to meet families’ immediate survival needs, such as baby supplies, clothing, and food.
Funding Request For:
The Community Service Grant is used for emergency services for immigrant families who are being bussed to DC. This action has overwhelmed current systems and capacity of immigrant-serving organizations and represents a new client group. The proposed project will provide the families with diapers, wipes, other baby supplies, and food, among other items.
