Changing lives by facilitating music lessons, experiences, and opportunities to benefit those who need it most. The MusicianShip aims to 1) develop its students’ musical aptitude to increase their college scholarship opportunities; 2) improve high school graduation rates among its students; 3) create meaningful career pathways; and 4) provide extracurricular lessons and activities that improve students’ socio-emotional capacity, increase confidence, and strengthen relationships.
Funding Request For:
The Out-of-School Time Music Education and Tutoring program provides Music Education and Tutoring programs afterschool to support underserved youth in the District of Columbia, with the goals of improving music aptitude, enhancing educational outcomes, and creating career pathways. The Youth Education Program serves more than 1,600 students annually, 95% of whom are young people of color, through out-of-school programs.
