Supporting and directing attention to both emerging and established writers through arts and arts education programs. The Nuestras Voces initiative is designed specifically to reach Latino and Hispanic students and English Language Learners. Through Nuestras Voces’ two programs—Writers in Schools and Writers in Residence— Latino stories and storytellers are brought to schools across Washington, DC, with an emphasis on serving Title I schools at no cost to them.

Funding Request For:

The grant will support the Nuestras Voces initiative. Support from the Rotary Club will allow the foundation to meet the ever-increasing cost of providing donated culturally-relevant books to the students we work with as part of our programs.
